Nitromethane : Gotta' Love the Mixture of Propane and Nitric Acid, and what a wonderful fuel which you would think was designed for drag racing, however; here is the defination as per "Wikipedia";
Is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3NO2. It is the simplest organic nitro compound. It is a slightly viscous, highly polar liquid commonly used as a solvent in a variety of industrial applications such as in extractions, as a reaction medium, and as a cleaning solvent. As an intermediate in organic synthesis, it is used widely in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, explosives, fibers, and coatings. It is also used as a racing fuel in Top Fuel drag racing, and as an important component in the fuel for miniature internal combustion engines that are used in radio-controlled models.
Second, Nitromethane or commonly referred to as simply "Nitro" or "Fuel" within drag racing circles, requries much less oxygen within the cylinder to burn. This results in approximately 9 times, more "Nitro", may be burnt when compared to gasoline in the comparable motor and with approximately 2.5 times, more energy being created.
So in brief, the collection of parts have begun. Three 392 Chrysler Hemi's, 'Stanke Motorsports' Roller Rockers, 36 Volt Helicopter stater for a blower starter set up, Isky Roller Nitro Cam on order, Littlefield Blower, Enderle Barn Door Mechancial Fuel Injection, Hedman Dragster Headers, M/T Valve Covers, Moon Timing Cover already set up for the cam driven fuel pump, and the list goes on !!!!
Enjoy the pic's....
